    The Shack

If you haven't read the new book, The Shack, you should.  It is an excellent book that brings God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit alive in a new, and somewhat unorthodox way, and makes them seem more interested in people and their problems than I've ever read in a book.  The story involves a tragedy- a little girl is abducted- and the suffering of the father and the family, but it is also a story of redemption.  I was truly touched at the gentle way the writer brought God down to earth and his marvelous descriptive powers in showing a life beyond this one.  Life doesn't always have happy endings, but in the end God is in control, which comforted my heart when I finished the book. It was one book I truly savored.
